Introducing Bare Bone Blog

The Bare Bone Blog, a site meant to uplift the voices of patients with bone diseases and educate people on bone health. Led by high school students like me, we’re able to highlight unique experiences and spread awareness all at the same time.

Bone disease seemed to surround my life.

First, my father, a man I considered to be one of the most active people I know, was diagnosed with arthritis. As a hospital guide, I observed the many misconceptions of bone disease simply through helping patients in wheelchairs. This motivated me to research about it and what I kept thinking in the back of mind was why isn’t bone health prioritized to teenagers like us. For this reason, I was determined to come up with a solution.

Through the High School Health Research Forum International Competition, my partner and I came up with solutions to spread awareness of bone diseases and preventative measures we could take to counter this condition. With much gratitude, we received the Pioneer in Health Research Award (2025).

Motivated by the award and the responses received from the High School Health Research Forum, I decided to start the blog with the aims of making bone health a priority like any other, simply through telling the bare truth.
